Yes, they exist
It depends on the day;)
They have a fairly small dining room, but they may leave you at the tables outside. A couple of waiters speak Spanish as if they were natives
I think so
I think something will have
Lemon pie, French pudding?
Often during lunchtime he does not answer the phone.
It is better to call directly to make the reservation. The number is +351 22 205 5306 😊
Home made food, cozy restaurant with wonderful service.
Outstanding, unpretentious down-home Portuguese cooking. Extremely busy. I was alone and was able to sneak a seat at the bar, but most people were being turned away as it was simply too busy, and the place too small. Would recommend reservations.Had the pig's cheek/red wine stew. Wow. The meat just fell apart with ease and almost melted in my mouth. And mashing the boiled potatoes in the broth....a heavenly experience.A chocolate mousse for dessert is just the right finish as well. And I must mention, extremely budget friendly.Would love to return one day.
Arrived close to opening time and was seated without any reservation for lunch. Soon after the restaurant quickly filled up and there was a line out the door. The food was no frill and tasted home made. I actually enjoyed my blood stock chicken rice! The price was affordable and portions were large.
Took Rick Steve's advice on this one and Taberna Santo Antonio lived up to the pick. Neat atmosphere and setting with stone walls covered in musical instruments. Given a small plate of croquette-like flavor pockets that were EXCELLENT. Ordered the octopus rice which was interesting, almost had the texture of a hotdog, tasty though. Pork loin was really tender, and to end the baked apple was a very nice surprise. We got there early and the place filled up quickly. Recommended for sure!
Delicious food and friendly service!
Nice and affordable restaurant. Traditional & tasty Portuguese dishes in a very local environment. Friendly staff with multilingual skills. It’s usually crowded but they will take your reservation and serve you a drink in the terrace on the street while you wait for an empty table
Small restaurant with real portuguese food. Great tripe, excellent sea bass, the BEST creme brulee I have ever had and a great choc mousse. Great vino Verde and I really good experience. Medium to low proces. What a win. Will be back.
We were here for dinner and lunch. Both time was delicious food and friendly staff, amazing experience. My favourite was white draft wine and fish (taste great), also I never tried better chocolate mousse. Highly recommended for casual dinner and good atmosphere.
This is the experience you wish for when traveling - friendly staff, good humor, inviting atmosphere, and, above all - excellent food made with perfect simplicity and care (and just enough garlic...) at the right price. The variety of homemade desserts are not to be missed. A reservation is recommended if you wish to be seated immediately. Or, show up, enjoy a drink while you wait for a table, and relax into a bright and beloved corner of Porto in the evening.
Best food in Porto. Small taverna with a menu that changes everyday. Ask Albert for his recomendation for food and wine pairing. Don't forget dessert and a little local moonshine after dinner. You may want to make reservations.
Fantastic dinning experience despite the long queue waiting to eat. Great service including from Caio. Good food and excellent value for money. Nice location housed in historic building next to beautiful Virtudes Park.
Good value for money.
Good food and great service. The staff is very friendly.
Super amazing restaurant... get a reservation first tho. Very homely and the staff is great. It's a very traditional Portuguese restaurant with great food and really good prices. We even got some language lessons from the staff! Definitely worth visiting while you're in Porto.
Excellent place to have Portuguese cuisine. Food was amazing at reasonable prices.
Super cool family owned restaurant. Amazing local food !
During my short time in Porto, I found this place through a google search. It was the best google search ever. Both nights I came (a Wednesday night and the following Saturday night) it was a few minutes before closing, so I had to wait a few minutes to be seated because of limited seating. But each time I came, it was worth the wait. The food was great and reasonably priced. And the menu was different each time so I could try different foods, especially with Bacalau, a common fish in Portugal. The portions are sufficient. I think I might go back for the chocolate mousse before I leave Porto. It was delicious!!
Good food good service.
We came here due to the amazing reviews but found the food average..it might be because we didn’t order the right dishes. We ordered the pork, steak and grilled fish between 3 people. The pork was the best out of the three, very tender and flavorful. Beef had good flavor but was tough. The waiter brought out some cod fritters for the table as we sat down but they were cold and not crispy (we went to another restaurant earlier in the day and we were brought freshly made ones). It was not a bad meal but just didn’t live up to our expectations based on the reviews.
What you need to know is this:- great prices & great food- you can drink all day, but food is served strictly from 12:00 to 15:00 (lunch) and from 19:00 to 21:00 (dinner)- you really should reserve a table in advance (like a day before)- the place has wonderful atmosphere and there are always people drinking, talking, laughing
Simple and delicious food, small place so make sure you make reservations!
Tasty food and great Service. Do try to book. It gets booked quickly .
We were pretty disappointed. Do not go here if you are a vegetarian. My partner had a meat dish and he said it was just okay. In all, cozy and good prices just okay food. If you want dessert I would recommend coming here after dinner for dessert— really delicious and cheap compared to other cakes in Porto.
Very beautiful place with a fantastic service and great dishes. Even the owner and the chief came to our table and we felt very welcome and warm.
Home made cookings. Home love treatment. Very friendly family.
Best meal I had in Porto. Great prices and good service even when there was a bit of a line they're happy to give you a drink and it moves quickly. The food is amazing especially the seafood rice.
Friendly local joint with a short and well curated menu of top quality dishes. Our server was very informative on the dishes and appropriate wine to pair. Loved it so much we booked a table for the following evening.
Great restaurant with very nice food and staff! I ate the "stek of the house" and it was very juicy and tasty, I got some spinache on the side that was probably the best spinache of my life. Great wine too and great athmosphere as well!
Random googled "Best chocolate mousse in Porto" and up came this little gem!! So walked for over 15 minutes to discover a buzzing little place with a queue of people. There were the little Choc mousse beauties... On display. Promptly ordered two and ate stood in doorway. SPOT ON what a way to finish a perfect evening out in Porto. Go and do it!
Great choice in Porto if you want to try traditional food and get to know how a very very typical restaurant is like. As a plus, it's right next to one of the best panoramic views of the city: Passeio das Virtudes. The prices are fair (and not so common nowadays in Porto). Here you can also try some of the most famous and traditional Portuguese desserts.
Very friendly, not too costly and good food!
Great small, family owned place. Has limited seating so advisable to make a reservation, or arrive close to opening time and hope someone does not honor theirs. The wine and port suggestions by the waiter were great, and the menu changes every day. The chocolate mousse was to die for, the waiter joked that they are more famous for their mousse than anything else. Defiantly worth a try!
Need to have a reservation beforehand which we did and there is a small menu with great selection! Pork cheek stew and the beef is fantastic!
We were recommended this place by a local, and it is famous for its home style cooking of Portuguese food. The clients are mostly locals and having tasted the food we are very happy with the whole experience.
Cross referenced by a number of sources, we ate here on our last day in Porto: lunch and dinner! Food was great and service was warm and friendly. MUST make reservations for dinner. They speak perfect English. Ask for recommendations if you don’t know what to get. Our meal was spot on in every way. By far the best-tasting and most authentic fritters around town, cod fritters were sold out by dinner. If dinner is booked out, you can get a drink and munch on some fritters outside. Other than the cod fritters we also had lamb, beef ❤️, seafood, and smoked chicken.
Came here based on high Google reviews but the food was not that great. The fried pork was cold and not crispy, Cod fish was not that great we had better. The seafood and chicken soup were the best 2 dishes. Chocolate dessert was great and price is super reasonable. So 3 for food, 5 for great price, and 2 for ambiance.
This place is amazing. Ambient was great, prices are fair and I'm not sure what was better food or service. Waiter was friendly and chill, it was pleasure talking to him, wine he recommended with our meal was great. I ate veal stew and it might be one of the best things I ate, perfectly seasoned and cooked. I also tried fried sardines, they were crispy, lovely and I couldn't feel one bone. I highly recommend this restaurant and I'll be going back for sure.
Do you like cheap, yummy food and warm hospitality? Of course you do - this is the place for you. This is a great spot to feel like you're at home with family, especially if you're traveling. It is busy (I went at 7 pm on a Saturday) and you may need to be patient at times but the simple and tasty food is totally worth it. Yes, do yourself a favour and enjoy the chocolate mousse.
Small cozy affordable casual dining. Food and service were quite good. Make sure you get reservation as this place packs up very quickly.
Good local traditional food great value
Very welcoming staff. Excellent entrees and dessert at very reasonable prices. Great portions too. I'd definitely go back. Note, this place gets busy as soon as they open. Small restaurant, so go early to get a table! No table service for the few tables they have outside; those are good for small plates to go with drinks that you order at the bar.
Amazing home cooked food, friendly staff and awesome desserts. A+ no wonder it's in all the guide books and recommend by the locals.
Just perfect Portugal food.
Small authentic family type restaurant, limited seating, food that you can taste the love in and an experience that is all about the enjoyment of good food in good company. I love when it’s not about the money.
Great place. Family staff super friendly. Mum /chef comes out to check each table and have a long chat. Menu renewed twice a day. Simple and good. Beer/vino Verde 1€ per glass. Great location. As many young Tripeiros than tourists. Best place in Porto
Food was acceptable but not great. Portions were big. The staff was friendly but the manager has a kind of personality I didn't like, he wasn't very nice, but fast with the service. If you like very traditional food you can't do wrong with this place. For me the flavor wasn't quite there.
Great food, low prices and a lot of laughs with the owner. Highly recommended!
